St. Michael the Archangel is the defender of the faithful and protector of the Church. Our parish is dedicated to his intercession and strength.
Who We Are
Debre Sahil St. Michael Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in Orlando, Florida is a young and growing parish rooted in the ancient Apostolic faith of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, preserved since 34 A.D.
We are a community gathered in prayer, fasting, and sacramental life, continuing the living tradition of the Church in Central Florida. Our parish is served by our resident monk, Melake Tsehay Komos Aba Gebreselasse, who leads the Divine Liturgy every Sunday beginning at 4:00 AM, along with prayers, baptisms, funeral services, and home blessings.

Our Vision
To build a spiritually strong Orthodox community in Orlando that preserves the faith and tradition of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, strengthens families, teaches the next generation, and provides a lasting spiritual home for all who seek Christ.
Our Mission
To preserve and live the Apostolic faith through the Holy Sacraments, prayer, and teaching; to nurture spiritual life through worship and tradition; and to serve our community in love, humility, and truth in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We are currently in a season of growth, working toward establishing a permanent sanctuary where worship, fellowship, and service may continue for generations to come.

Outreach & Community Impact
Special Olympics Florida Central Region Summer Games
We were honored to volunteer at the Special Olympics Florida Central Region Summer Games, where our team assisted with competition scoring and medal presentations for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Our volunteers also supported the event staff with gym clean-up and other event needs throughout the day. It was a rewarding experience to encourage and celebrate the athletes while giving back through service and teamwork.
Christian Service Center
Our team had the privilege of serving at the Christian Service Center, where we assisted in providing meals to individuals and families experiencing hardship, including those facing housing insecurity. In addition to meal service, our volunteers helped clean and organize the facility after service hours. Most importantly, we were blessed to share meaningful fellowship and teamwork while serving alongside this incredible organization and its mission to support the community.
